SABRE Security Equipment Corporation | Manufacturing | 150 | $20M | United States | SPS Commerce | SPS Analytics | Analytics and BI | 2022 | n/a |
In 2022 SABRE Security Equipment Corporation implemented SPS Analytics as a core Analytics and BI capability to centralize point of sale data for operational reporting. SPS Analytics was integrated into SABRE's Azure data estate to provide a feed for enterprise reporting and dataset creation, supporting Sales and Finance workflows across the business.
The implementation architecture ingested SPS Analytics point of sale data via SFTP into Azure Blob Storage, then processed files through Azure Data Factory pipelines into Azure SQL Database. That Azure-based pipeline was executed alongside other Azure integrations including an Azure Data Factory and custom D365 Business Central API solution used to update D365 BC Sales Orders with shipment and invoice information from a third party logistics vendor.
Functionally the SPS Analytics deployment focused on POS data capture and staging for downstream Analytics and BI consumption, feeding Power BI production datasets. Power BI Platform work established dataset and report page navigation standards, and over 25 Power BI production datasets were designed to support reporting across Sales, Production, Shipping, Customer Service, S and OP, Procurement and Financials, replacing prior reporting processes and consolidating reports into more than 100 reports and hundreds of pages.
Operational scope included the IS organization and cross functional business users in Sales, Production, Shipping and Finance, with governance driven by in house solution architecture and systems leadership. Training and mentorship were part of rollout, with staff coached on Power BI report building, DAX measures, API integration development using Postman, and Azure technologies including Azure Data Factory, Azure Key Vault and Azure SQL Database.
The deployment was managed as part of broader ERP and integration initiatives, including development of more than 70 D365 Business Central AL objects to support Power BI reporting and integrations. Vendor and operational changes achieved explicit cost outcomes in related IT management, including a 48 percent reduction in managed service provider costs through internal resourcing and vendor management improvements.
