Baumit Group | Manufacturing | 5700 | $900M | Austria | Viamedici | Viamedici MDM | Master Data Management | 2024 | n/a |
In 2024, Baumit Group implemented Viamedici MDM to centralize and govern its product information across its European operations. The rollout followed a pilot of Viamedici’s Enterprise Product Information Management platform in Baumit’s German business and expanded to 27 other countries, reflecting requirements for flexibility, scalability, and adherence to country specific laws and regulations. Baumit faced extremely complex product data, including a database of over 900 recipes, and needed a structured way to distribute accurate product information to internal and external partners.
The implementation established a Golden Product Record as the core data model within Viamedici MDM, providing a standardized communication artifact that is syndicated based on configurable rules. Functional capabilities put into production include rules based distribution, automated document generation driven by master data, and real time analytics for trend and issue detection. Viamedici MDM was configured to support localized product attributes and regulatory metadata so country organizations can create compliant materials from the same master dataset.
Operational coverage extended beyond central product management to marketing, country product teams, and external stakeholders such as planners, tradesmen, specialist dealers, and builders, enabling both internal and external data syndication. Integrations emphasized information flows and stakeholder access rather than point to point system replacements, with the system delivering standardized product records to multiple downstream consumers. Reporting functionality was implemented to identify changes in product information, to incorporate those changes into materials and channels, and to prevent redundant data creation.
Governance was refocused around the Golden Product Record and rules based distribution, shifting workflow ownership to country organizations for document generation while maintaining centrally enforced master data standards. Rollout governance used the Germany pilot as a template for country rollouts and incorporated localized data controls to address regulatory variance. According to Baumit, Viamedici EPIM has improved internal communication for product data through the Golden Product Record and standardized distribution processes.

TRUMPF | Manufacturing | 18500 | $5.8B | Germany | Viamedici | Viamedici MDM | Master Data Management | 2024 | n/a |
In 2024 TRUMPF deployed Viamedici MDM to centralize and govern its product information at global scale, an implementation aligned to the Master Data Management category. TRUMPF entered the project with a complex catalog of close to 140,000 products and highly structured parts and components that account for roughly 25 to 30 percent of turnover, and the program was scoped to support multiple users and departments with different data requirements.
The implementation uses Viamedici MDM and leverages Viamedici EPIM capabilities to model deep product hierarchies, manage attribute enrichment, and consolidate media into a single product master. Configuration focused on a robust product data model for components and assemblies, product classification and taxonomy management, media asset management workflows, and editorial approval chains to standardize data across sources.
Operationally the Viamedici MDM rollout automated previously manual transfers from internal product databases into print catalog workflows, the corporate website, and the online store, while providing role based access for product management, marketing, e commerce, and technical documentation teams. The solution was provisioned to operate at global scale and to serve as the enterprise source of truth for product master records, enabling consistent downstream exports and channel specific data views.
Governance was restructured around centralized data stewardship, workflow orchestration, and clear ownership of attribute sets to address the divergent needs of multiple departments. According to TRUMPF stakeholders the Viamedici EPIM implementation was able to map enormous complexity without issue, and the PIM system has helped optimize multiple processes, freeing up resources and driving substantial savings.
