Independent Hardware | Retail | 25 | $3M | United States | Sage | Sage 50 Quantum | ERP Financial | 2012 | n/a | In 2012, Independent Hardware implemented Sage 50 Quantum as its ERP Financial application for its retail operations. The initiative was led by an internal project manager who concurrently provided IT technical support and aimed to equip office and sales personnel with improved accounting and inventory visibility. Sage 50 Quantum was configured to support core accounting, inventory control, purchase order processing, sales tracking, and profitability reporting, aligning with standard ERP Financial functional modules. Deployment included data entry of over 10,000 inventory items into Sage 50 Quantum and configuration of user roles for office and sales staff to manage cost and available inventory supply. Standard financial workflows such as general ledger posting and invoice processing were established to centralize financial and inventory records. Infrastructure work included replacement of an NT server with a custom-built Windows Small Business 2011 server and upgrades or replacement of workstations, increasing internal network capacity to support the Sage 50 Quantum deployment. The implementation was on-premises and focused on the company headquarters in the United States, covering office and sales operations across the small business with 25 employees, with internal IT providing ongoing technical support. Governance and rollout combined project management with hands-on training, the project manager delivered staff training and continuous support on new computing systems and software operations from January 2012 onward. Operational handoffs emphasized purchase order workflows, inventory control procedures, and sales and profitability reporting within Sage 50 Quantum to ensure day-to-day use by office and sales personnel. Company staff now use the system to track sales, profitability, purchase orders and inventory control, and internal processes were updated to support ongoing data maintenance and system use. | |
