ConocoPhillips Oil, Gas and Chemicals 11800 $54.7B United States SAP SAP Sourcing Sourcing 2018 n/a In 2018 ConocoPhillips implemented SAP Sourcing to centralize procurement and contract management functions within Supply Chain Management, aligning the Sourcing application to company contract governance and commercial sourcing practices. SAP Sourcing was deployed to support Contract Management of key business contracts, maintain contract documentation in compliance with audit requirements, and to formalize Contract Management Plans and participation in Contract Review Meetings and Contract Steering Meetings. The SAP Sourcing implementation emphasized contract lifecycle capabilities, including template based contract documentation, solicitation of commercial proposals, structured bid packages, commercial evaluation criteria, vendor selection workflows and award recommendation workflows. Configuration covered frame agreement handling, negotiation workflow support for soliciting and negotiating contractual terms and conditions, and tools to capture compensation structures and commercial analyses for client review and approval. Integrations were built to utilize the procurement tools referenced by ConocoPhillips, including eSourcing, Smart and ePayables, and to interface with the broader SAP procurement landscape to support P2P orchestration. The deployment operated as a centralized Sourcing platform supporting Supply Chain, procurement councils and service groups, and it was designed to enable identification and support of regional and global business initiatives and best practices. Governance and process changes were embedded into workflow routing to coordinate approval of Contract Strategy and Procurement Plans, bidders lists and contract awards through the Procurement Council and partner approvals where appropriate. The program also codified roles for liaison between company clients, contractors and service groups, formalized claims handling procedures, and aimed to drive improvement of P2P processes and KPIs using ePayables integration.
