Babcock International Group | Aerospace and Defense | 28343 | $5.7B | United Kingdom | SAP | SAP HCM Organizational Management | Succession and Leadership Planning | 2016 | n/a | In 2016 Babcock International Group implemented SAP HCM Organizational Management to support Succession and Leadership Planning within its cross divisional HR function. The implementation is managed through the SAP Service and Programme organisation and operates as a hybrid delivery model, combining remote administration with periodic on site activity at the Portsmouth hub to support day to day configuration, support, and change activities. The deployment encompassed SuccessFactors and SAP HR modules, with explicit emphasis on SAP HR organizational management OM and personnel administration PA, Employee Central style capabilities for master data, compensation and recruitment configuration, and interfacing to Payroll on ECC6. SAP HCM Organizational Management was used to capture structures, position management, HR master data, portlets and reporting artifacts, with blueprinting, functional specifications, technical specifications and test scripts created as part of standard release and change processes. Integrations were implemented and supported as part of the solution, with explicit integration design, configuration and operational support for SuccessFactors to on premise SAP HR and Payroll landscapes using Boomi and CPI. The architecture spans multiple SAP landscapes and includes user interface touchpoints and related HR fleet solutions required to deliver the service, with integration ownership covering data exchange, transformation and reconciliation between SuccessFactors, SAP HR OM/PA and Payroll ECC6. Governance was formalized through documented business processes, data and reporting standards, and compliance checks, with responsibilities for requirements gathering, process modelling, training documentation and ongoing troubleshooting assigned to the internal SuccessFactors and HCM Solution Lead role. Change and release management practices were embedded, with the team providing specialist level functional and configuration oversight, supporting business implementations and sharing best practice configuration skills across divisions. Operational coverage focused on HR and related business functions across Babcock divisions in the United Kingdom, with occasional travel to the Portsmouth hub required for on site workshops and cutover activities. The program required personnel to hold or obtain SC security clearance and emphasized sustained support, enhancement and governance of SAP HCM Organizational Management for Succession and Leadership Planning. | |
