Hologic | Life Sciences | 7063 | $4.0B | United States | Oracle | Oracle E-Business Suite | ERP Financial | 2012 | Data Intensity | In 2012 Hologic upgraded to Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial platform. The company deployed Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1 into a single global instance using a big bang upgrade approach and completed the program in less than six months from initial planning to go-live. Hologic expanded functional coverage within Oracle E-Business Suite, implementing modules that include Oracle Financials, Oracle Manufacturing, Oracle Order Management, Oracle Shipping Execution, Oracle Purchasing and procurement capabilities, Oracle iSupplier Portal, Oracle Service and Oracle Quality, alongside human capital modules such as Oracle Human Resources, Oracle Learning Management and Oracle iRecruitment. The project also added Oracle Performance Management and ran a simultaneous upgrade of Agile applications to enable stronger subledger accounting controls and simplified order management workflows. The implementation covered operations across more than 10 countries and dozens of sites, serving more than 1,000 regular business users, 100 to 150 super users across five lines of business, and several thousand occasional self-service users. Hologic worked with Oracle Consulting and implementation partners Data Intensity and Apps Associates, and with managed service providers, to develop technical integration points, perform regression testing, and localize statutory requirements in markets such as Italy, Spain and France. Governance was led by an executive steering committee and a 100-person global core team with senior management representation from HR, order administration, contract administration, service, manufacturing supply chain, quality, shipping and distribution, and accounting and finance, supported by IT analysts and consultants and coordinated through weekly communications and town-hall updates under a no surprises, no delays approach. After the upgrade Hologic reported improved usability and functionality from Oracle E-Business Suite and the shared services accounting center achieved a five-day global account close two months after go-live. | |
