Sonepar Malaysia Distribution 850 $300M Malaysia Microsoft Microsoft Dynamics AX - SCM Module Supply Chain Management 2018 n/a In 2018, Sonepar Malaysia implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX - SCM Module within an ERP Microsoft Dynamics AX2012 program to address core Supply Chain Management needs alongside Finance and Project domains. The Microsoft Dynamics AX - SCM Module deployment was scoped to distribution operations in Malaysia and targeted supply chain, procurement, inventory, manufacturing, sales, and project financial control as primary business functions. The implementation program configured and streamlined explicit modules including Finance and Account, Sales & Marketing, Procurement and Sourcing, Product Information Management, Warehouse and Inventory, Manufacturing, Master Planning, and Project. Configuration work emphasized module-level functional design and re-engineering of SCM-related workflows, master data structures, and inventory controls consistent with distribution industry processes. Architecture and rollout followed a template-driven approach, with regional ERP templates developed and safeguarded for South East Asia to enable repeatable deployments. The project was delivered as an in-joint implementation with external partners, with the Microsoft Dynamics AX - SCM Module positioned as the central transactional engine connecting procurement, inventory, manufacturing, and sales processes within the company’s operational footprint. Program governance included creation and implementation of comprehensive project documentation, notably functional design documents, functional requirement documents, training materials, and test plans. Ownership for streamlining SCM modules and maintaining global ERP templates was embedded in the regional project governance to ensure consistent configuration and process controls across subsequent South East Asia implementations.
Corin Group Life Sciences 850 $215M United Kingdom Kardex Kardex WMS Warehouse Management 2020 n/a In 2020 Corin Group implemented Kardex WMS to support warehouse operations at its head office in Cirencester, deploying the Kardex WMS Warehouse Management application to formalize order processing and fulfilment workflows. The implementation focused on operationalizing order picking, packing and despatch for both UK and export shipments, aligning the system with the Supply and Logistics team’s daily, weekly and monthly shipping schedules. Kardex WMS was configured to manage core Warehouse Management capabilities including order picking execution, packing and shrink-wrap processes, and inventory control to maintain stock accuracy. The system was operated by Warehouse Operatives and configured to reflect regulated packing standards and pick-and-pack workflows used by Corin staff, supporting shift work and targets driven by the distribution schedule. Operational coverage extended across the head office warehouse and provided support for adjacent distribution functions such as Joint Response and kit build, impacting shipping, inventory control and order fulfilment business functions. The solution enabled formal communication touchpoints between warehouse operators and other departments, embedding the Kardex WMS order picking system into Corin’s day-to-day logistics operations. Governance and compliance controls were mapped into the WMS to meet Corin’s Quality Management System requirements under ISO13485, Good Manufacturing Practice and FDA21 CFR Part 820, and to enforce process and timeline requirements for Corrective and Preventive Actions as defined in Corin’s Standard Operating Procedures. The implementation emphasized process-driven operation, adherence to SOPs and traceability to support audit and CAPA workflows within the warehouse environment.
