Metro Trains Melbourne Pty Ltd Transportation 7000 $1.7B Australia Hitachi Vantara Hitachi Ellipse EAM Enterprise Asset Management 2018 n/a In 2018 Metro Trains Melbourne Pty Ltd implemented Hitachi Ellipse EAM as its Enterprise Asset Management platform to support asset lifecycle and project completions across its Projects Services and Infrastructure functions. The deployment was positioned to centralize asset records, image management, and completion workflows for project closeouts and asset acceptance activities. Configuration work focused on asset register and asset image ingestion, completions workflow orchestration, and structured upload processes for certificates, forms, and drawing packages. Hitachi Ellipse EAM was used to enforce quality checks on asset data prior to acceptance, to host monthly completions reporting at Level 1 through Level 3, and to provide training and operational handover materials for project teams and contractors. Integrations implemented included data exchanges between Hitachi Ellipse EAM and PTV PASS Assets, plus linkage to the PTV Drawing Management System for storage of approved drawings and packages. Operational coverage included coordination between MTM Infrastructure, project delivery teams, Alliance partners and the Department of Transport to ensure timely acceptance of asset data and images, with specific asset acceptance activities recorded for Skye Rd and Buckley St. Governance was reinforced through weekly Alliance meetings, training programs for contractors and new starters, and standardized project completion processes and procedures. Operational outcomes documented in internal notes included more consistent asset data submission, expedited processing of asset images, and disciplined closeout practices enforced via Hitachi Ellipse EAM.
