HomeChoice International | Retail | 1668 | $197M | South Africa | Sage | Sage 300 People | Core HR | 2015 | n/a | In 2015, HomeChoice International implemented Sage 300 People to centralize Core HR and payroll operations for its South Africa retail business. The implementation was positioned to capture, administer and reconcile payroll and related information across the company’s omni-channel retail operations and employee population of 1,668. Sage 300 People was configured to operate key Core HR capabilities including the payroll module, leave module, Employee Self Service systems, benefits and benefit funds administration, processing of new employee engagements and terminations, expense claims and subsistence allowance workflows, and standard and customized payroll reporting and payslip distribution. Configuration emphasized adherence to company and legislative requirements, with ongoing maintenance of the Sage 300 People payroll and ESS systems as an operational responsibility. Operational integration centered on statutory payroll processes and reconciliations, explicitly including PAYE reconciliation, PAYE year to date reconciliation, E filing and Easy file procedures, and Emp501 reconciliation and tax year end workflows. The implementation supported liaison with regulatory bodies and the timeous completion and submission of statutory returns, filing and archiving of payroll documentation, and handling of payroll and HR related queries across HR and finance functions. Governance and process discipline were defined around monthly payroll and benefit reconciliations, payroll control account reconciliation for leave and tax items, and biannual and year end tax procedures. Operational ownership included maintaining confidentiality, responding to payroll queries, and ensuring continuous alignment of Sage 300 People with payroll legislation and reporting obligations. The deployment of Sage 300 People established a centralized Core HR and payroll platform for HomeChoice International, instrumenting payroll capture, reconciliation, statutory reporting and employee self service as core operational workflows within the HR and finance domains. | |
