Acelity ( 3M Co. Company) | Life Sciences | 4500 | $1.5B | United States | Oracle | Oracle Hyperion | EPM | 2011 | n/a | In 2011, Acelity (3M Co. Company) executed an Oracle Hyperion upgrade within its EPM environment, moving Hyperion from version 9.3.1 to 11.1.2.1. The upgrade scope explicitly included Hyperion Workspace and Financial Data Quality Management applications and focused on financial consolidation and month-end close workflows. The implementation encompassed documenting system flows and processes, creating a formal test plan for User Acceptance Testing, and conducting user acceptance training for selected finance users. All upgrade deliverables and runbooks were posted to a project SharePoint site, data was loaded from 9.3.1 into 11.1.2.1, and financial data was reconciled and tied out from 2003 through the 2011 upgrade period. Separately, Acelity built a stand-alone Oracle Hyperion Workspace application to support a divested business sale, presenting the current financial consolidation process to the buyer and posting monthly financial data to a secure site. The program also integrated acquired company financial data into Oracle Hyperion Workspace and Financial Data Quality Management systems, including workshops to translate acquired companies financial data to Acelity’s Global Chart of Accounts and Hyperion Workspace accounting structure, and training the acquired company finance team on month-end close procedures. Governance activities were led by the project lead and centered on standardized documentation, UAT governance, user training, and reconciliation controls across historical and current datasets. Operational coverage was focused on finance and consolidation functions, with process alignment and training to embed Oracle Hyperion into month-end close and financial reporting workflows. | |
