HP Hood | Consumer Packaged Goods | 3400 | $3.2B | United States | Kewill | Kewill MOVE | Transportation Management | 2014 | n/a | In 2014, HP Hood implemented Kewill MOVE on the Cloud for Shippers as a centralized Transportation Management solution to standardize logistics across its distributed dairy operations. The rollout targeted the companys multi-site footprint, centralizing management for approximately 150,000 annual shipments and connecting manufacturing and distribution assets including 16 manufacturing plants, 12 processing plants and 22 distribution centers. Kewill MOVE was configured as a single, standard TMS rolled out organizationwide and extended to acquired companies, delivering core Transportation Management capabilities such as carrier network connectivity, shipment orchestration, real-time visibility across the order to delivery cycle, and analytics for logistics planning. The deployment included automated freight payment workflows that reached 95 percent automation, and reporting and data analysis functions used to inform network decisions and plant siting. The implementation used Kewill MOVE on a cloud delivery model and established electronic connections with a broad carrier network to enable real-time collaboration between plants, customer service, carriers, and the transportation organization. Operational coverage included logistics planning and execution, warehouse and customer service visibility, and centralized freight payment processing, enabling regular carrier payment and more accurate period cost reporting. Governance and process restructuring emphasized a centralized transportation process and digitization, replacing paper-based procedures and disparate processes from multiple acquisitions with a standard set of workflows and operational controls. The TMS became the single point of truth for shipment execution and settlement, improving coordination between dispatch, carrier management, customer service, and finance functions. Results documented in the case deployment included complete visibility into the transportation process, increased on-time deliveries to 99.6 percent, a 95 percent automated freight payment rate, a 20 percent reduction in LTL shipments, and order turn-around times of six days or less. Kewill MOVE provided the analytics insight that informed network changes, including adding a new plant or DC to reduce transit days and support national expansion. | |
