Hortonworks Professional Services 1150 $184M United States Oracle Oracle NetSuite Expense Expense Management 2016 n/a In 2016 Hortonworks implemented Oracle NetSuite Expense to centralize expense processing for its Professional Services organization, this deployment targeted Expense Management for travel and consultant reimbursement workflows and aligned expense handling with billing touchpoints. The implementation year 2016 is associated directly with the Oracle NetSuite Expense rollout and the project focused on formalizing reimbursement and invoice generation processes for services travel. Oracle NetSuite Expense was configured to support core Expense Management capabilities including review and approval of travel related expenses, attachment verification for receipts, expense invoice generation for monthly reimbursement, and credit and rebill processing. Configuration emphasized automated approval routing, documentation validation, and support for generating labor and travel invoices tied to project billing cycles. The solution was integrated with Open Air to ingest travel expense submissions and to update project details used for billing and closure, and it linked to Salesforce to receive Vendor Statement of Work contracts for review and approval prior to Accounts Receivable submission. Operational coverage spanned Professional Services Operations, Regional Directors, consultants, and Engagement Managers, and the implementation supported interactions with Accounts Receivable for invoice submission and customer contract comprehension before billing. Governance incorporated existing SOW and MSA contract controls and the stated expense and travel policies into approval workflows, with procedures for following up on rejected expense reports and maintaining documentation. Operational practices included backlog maintenance, project closure notifications to operations and field managers, onboarding assistance for consultants and EMs on core operational activities, and routine month end invoice submission processes.
