Atlas Iron Oil, Gas and Chemicals 600 $1.0B Australia National Australia Bank FlexiPurchase (OEM Fraedom Spendvision) Expense Management 2023 n/a In 2023 Atlas Iron deployed FlexiPurchase (OEM Fraedom Spendvision) as its Expense Management application to standardize finance operations across its Australian mining sites. The implementation was driven by the Finance team to support expanding operations at Mt Webber, Sanjiv Ridge and Miralga Creek in WA’s Pilbara region and to embed consistent processing for accounts and expense workflows. FlexiPurchase (OEM Fraedom Spendvision) was configured to manage core expense lifecycle capabilities, including employee expense claims submission and approval, corporate credit card statement processing, transaction review and validation with automated reminder notifications, and preparation of payment proposal invoice checks. The deployment also encompassed bank statement daily loads and allocation support, month end corporate journal processing, and maintenance of monthly balance sheet reconciliation folders, aligning Expense Management workflows with established accounting procedures. Operational coverage centered on the central Finance team with functional impact across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll and tax compliance activities, and audit support tasks. Day to day responsibilities implemented in the system reflect existing role tasks such as data accuracy checks, processing miscellaneous AR invoices, payroll tax lodgement preparation, and assistance with FBT return schedules, ensuring the Expense Management application supports both site-level spending and corporate reporting. Governance and process changes focused on documented procedures and role-based controls, including validation routines, reminder notification workflows and reconciliation ownership to support auditability. The implementation emphasized routinized month end activities, backup support for AP processing, and creation of reconciliation folder structures to institutionalize accounting best practices within Atlas Iron’s finance operations.
