Inalum Manufacturing 2057 $4.3B Indonesia SAP SAP S/4 HANA HCM Core HR 2016 n/a In 2016 Inalum implemented SAP S/4 HANA HCM as the Core HR component within a broader new SAP HANA deployment. The program at the Kuala Tanjung site was managed by Telkom Indonesia and delivered HR capabilities alongside a full suite of SAP modules, including FI-CO, MM, WM, PP, QM, SD, plus SAP CRM and SAP SRM as part of the same rollout. The SAP S/4 HANA HCM implementation focused on core HR functions, with configuration work targeted at personnel administration, organizational management, and workforce master data management to centralize employee records and support HR transactional processes. Workstreams aligned HCM master data with production planning and quality management inputs from PP and QM modules to ensure consistent employee role and qualification data across operational processes. Integration was executed at the application layer to link SAP S/4 HANA HCM to financial posting and cost allocation in FI-CO, material and inventory processes in MM and WM, and order to cash workflows in SD. Operational coverage included HR and site operations at the Kuala Tanjung facility and extended to enterprise HR processes supporting Inalum’s employee population, with data flows coordinated across CRM and SRM where procurement and customer facing interactions required HR context. Governance was organized with cross functional ownership between HR, IT and operations, and the delivery included specialist consulting roles documented from September 2015 through April 2016 to support configuration and module integration. The deployment emphasized standard Core HR processes within SAP S/4 HANA HCM and orchestration of HCM data in support of broader ERP functional modules.
