Apetito Consumer Packaged Goods 1656 $239M United Kingdom ORTEC ORTEC Advanced Scheduling Advanced Planning and Scheduling 2010 n/a In 2010, Apetito implemented ORTEC Advanced Scheduling within its Advanced Planning and Scheduling environment to introduce the company’s first formal scheduling system. The deployment targeted Apetito UK’s temperature controlled and time critical deliveries, managed by the UK logistics organization responsible for a yearly distribution budget of £6 million. The ORTEC Advanced Scheduling implementation focused on vehicle scheduling and route planning capabilities to align planning with production and distribution windows. Configuration emphasized time critical delivery windows, temperature controlled constraints and schedule adherence, with automation of scheduling workflows and operational exception handling consistent with Advanced Planning and Scheduling functional patterns. Integration work was executed in conjunction with the Isotrak vehicle tracking platform and the program team participated in a subsequent phase involving Telogis Fleet routing and tracking technology as part of ongoing routing roadmap activities. Operational coverage included regional distribution centers, external suppliers and franchisee delivery operations, supported by regular RDC and supplier meetings to review performance and adjust schedules. Governance and process changes were implemented alongside the software rollout, including a Commonwealth Games and Olympic Contingency Plan, an adverse weather policy, a risk assessment procedure and dedicated Christmas delivery schedules. The initiative also encompassed project management of a new rigid delivery fleet procurement and established super user training for ORTEC Advanced Scheduling and linked tracking systems to institutionalize scheduling practices within logistics operations.
Apetito Consumer Packaged Goods 1656 $239M United Kingdom Isotrak Isotrak ATMSi Fleet Management Fleet Management 2010 n/a In 2010 Apetito implemented Isotrak ATMSi Fleet Management to support its UK temperature controlled and time critical delivery operations, aligning tracking and scheduling with the companys Fleet Management needs. The deployment targeted the UK logistics operation managed against an agreed yearly logistics budget of £6 million, focused on regional RDC coordination, franchise delivery routes for Wiltshire Farm Foods, and care home and hospital supply chains. The implementation centered on vehicle tracking and real time operational visibility delivered by Isotrak ATMSi Fleet Management, integrated operationally with the companys scheduling capability provided by Ortec and later phases involving Telogis routing. The solution operated alongside other operational systems used by the logistics team, including SAP, Foretrack, Shortrec now ORS from Ortec, and ASCC camera systems, enabling consolidated operational workflows for route planning and execution and standard fleet telematics functions such as location, status and exception reporting. Governance and process changes accompanied the technical rollout, with project management for the procurement of a new rigid delivery fleet covering specification, costing, timelines, driver involvement and contractual sign off, and designated super users driving adoption. The logistics team created and implemented a Commonwealth Games and Olympic contingency plan, an adverse weather policy, risk assessment procedures and Christmas delivery schedules, embedding Isotrak ATMSi Fleet Management into operational continuity and seasonal planning processes. Operational analytics and data analysis were used to demonstrate improvements in productivity and efficiency via the companys chosen KPIs, and the deployment is recorded as a successful introduction of the companys first scheduling system in conjunction with vehicle tracking. The implementation also positioned internal teams for subsequent routing and tracking phases, with staff serving as project team members and super users during Telogis integration activities.
