GLOBUS Markthallen | Retail | 20000 | $9.0B | Germany | SAP | SAP Customer Activity Repository for S/4HANA Retail | CRM | 2020 | KPS | In 2020, GLOBUS Markthallen implemented SAP Customer Activity Repository for S/4HANA Retail to underpin an AI based product recommendation initiative. The SAP Customer Activity Repository for S/4HANA Retail deployment was anchored in the CRM category and targeted the specific problem of generic recommendations for unknown or unregistered customers. KPS engaged to prototype and build an AI based product recommendation engine that joined product master data with purchase histories exported from SAP Customer Activity Repository via SAP Business Warehouse. The implementation ingested raw SAP CAR exports into Google Cloud, transformed and persisted records in Google BigQuery, and trained recommendation models in Google Cloud Vertex AI, achieving a prediction confidence level above 80 percent on the initial model run. Operational scope centered on the Globus St. Wendel site while leveraging CAR point of sale data flows, and the solution consumed approximately 95k user events and signals together with 170k catalog records during the pilot. The workstream focused on product catalog enrichment, event signal processing, model training pipelines, and serving predictions back to merchandising and customer engagement workflows in the store environment. Governance and delivery were led by KPS as the system integrator, drawing on an ongoing engagement with Globus since 2018, and the prototype was delivered in under 4 weeks. The deployment changed how product recommendation logic is sourced by connecting SAP Customer Activity Repository for S/4HANA Retail data into cloud based machine learning pipelines, improving personalization capabilities used by merchandising and customer engagement teams. | |
