Macquarie Group Banking and Financial Services 21270 $4.5B Australia Splunk Splunk Business Flow Process Mining 2019 n/a In 2019 Macquarie Group implemented Splunk Business Flow as a Process Mining capability to instrument transactional and workflow telemetry across IT and security domains. Splunk Business Flow was positioned to provide process analytics, visibility into execution flows, and operational diagnostics for application teams and enterprise services. The deployment was run on a mixed on premises and cloud infrastructure consisting of AWS, Linux and Windows, and operated under a DevOps model for the Splunk enterprise service. Configuration work emphasized data onboarding, custom dashboards, saved searches and alerting, while configuring process discovery and flow visualization capabilities consistent with Process Mining use cases. Integrations were implemented with bank wide identity management and security stacks, including Active Directory, DNS and domain controllers, and Cyber Security tooling such as Netskope, Palo Alto, Symantec and F5. The implementation also tied into governance and IT service systems including Sailpoint, Remedy and Helix, plus custom certificate management applications. Monitoring was consolidated into a custom Splunk alert framework and monitoring migrated from end of life systems including BMC BEM and HPOM, enabling those products and infrastructure to be decommissioned. Operational governance for Splunk Business Flow adhered to Macquarie Group risk controls, ITIL and Agile principles, with incident management escalations, routine upgrades, patching, agent lifecycle management and business continuity testing coordinated through the enterprise services function. Deliverables recorded during the engagement included major and minor system upgrades, infrastructure migrations and successful BCP tests, demonstrating the integration of Process Mining workflows into existing operational and security processes.
