uMngeni-uThukela Water Utilities 1343 $259M South Africa SAP SAP HCM - ESS/MSS Employee Self Service 2015 n/a In 2015, uMngeni-uThukela Water implemented SAP HCM - ESS/MSS as part of a full SAP HCM rollout across its HR and payroll functions. The deployment included Employee Self Service capabilities to enable employee and manager self-service transactions and to standardize HR lifecycle interactions. The HCM modules implemented included Organisation Management, Personnel Administration, Employee Relations, Time Management, Payroll, PCP, E-Recruitment, ESS/MSS, Performance Management, and E-Learning. A complete Blue Print Phase was delivered, informing the configuration of organisational structures, infotypes, payroll schema and time evaluation rules, and defining ESS/MSS role-based authorizations and interfaces. The implementation integrated these HCM modules within the SAP HCM suite to maintain shared master data and end-to-end payroll processing flows, centralizing employee records, time capture and pay calculation processes. Operational coverage targeted HR, payroll, talent acquisition and learning functions, with core delivery activity based in the Pietermaritzburg Area in South Africa. Project governance included a Team Lead SAP HCM and PY assigned to uMngeni-uThukela Water from March 2015 to January 2016 to drive blueprint completion and module configuration. Governance practices emphasized role-based approvals for ESS/MSS, manager self-service workflows and staged module cutovers aligned to payroll and time management production cycles.
