Datatech HCM supported onboarding workflows and new hire application entry while serving as the operational HRIS for the company. The deployment encompassed functional modules aligned with Core HR capabilities, including onboarding and employee data management, incident and injury registration, worker's compensation claim handling, benefits enrollment tracking, and payroll processing. Datatech HCM was used to create daily cost sheets, harvest reports, and daily crew picking schedules, reflecting configuration for seasonal workforce scheduling and time-adjacent payroll entry. Operational coverage extended across field and facility sites, with the application used by HR assistants conducting onsite orientation and training, crew bosses, and supervisors for daily crew coordination. The environment supported daily payroll entry for up to 950 employees, incident follow-up and doctor appointment scheduling, and routine tracking of employee benefits enrollment on a monthly cadence. Governance and workflow changes were operationalized through documented practices such as weekly tailgate meetings led by crew bosses, weekly invoicing and balance submission, systematic entry of Employee Accident, Incident, or Injury Reports and Worker's Comp Claim Forms, and direct HR touchpoints for onboarding and injury accommodation. The Datatech HCM implementation positioned California Harvesters to standardize HR intake, safety reporting, and payroll workflows across harvest and packing operations.
