In 2020, H&M UK implemented SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as its Core HR platform. The program was executed as a four year initiative that began in 2017, with a documented project manager tenure from May 2017 to June 2020 and a delivery team exceeding 40 FTEs, and Browline Consulting served as the system integrator on the engagement.
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central was configured as a global template to standardize core HR data and processes, including organizational management, position and job structures, employee and contingent workforce records, and workforce lifecycle workflows for hires, transfers and terminations. Configuration emphasized centralized master data, standardized employee profiles, and workflow automation consistent with Core HR capabilities.
The implementation integrated SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central with Microsoft Identity and Access management cloud solution MIM to enable identity provisioning and access governance across markets and brands. Operational coverage spanned all markets, all brands and all business units within the H&M group, and the program impacted HR, IT and security functions responsible for user provisioning and access controls.
Governance and rollout were structured with formal steering groups and owners, budget and business case accountability, vendor negotiation and cross-team coordination. The project manager role encompassed managing people and delivery, supporting and guiding leads, hire and staffing decisions, reporting to steering groups and owners, and coordinating with multiple internal teams and external suppliers during the phased global rollout.
