In 2015 Penn State University began phased deployment of Oracle PeopleSoft Financial Aid as part of its PeopleSoft Campus Solutions LionPATH program. The implementation addresses Loan Management functions for financial aid packaging, disbursement and student self service across the institution.
The PeopleSoft Campus Solutions implementation was configured as a single PeopleSoft instance intended to serve Penn State's multi campus structure, consolidating admissions, registration and financial aid processes under the LionPATH program. Oracle PeopleSoft Financial Aid modules were configured for packaging, awards, disbursement processing and student self service workflows, with standard PeopleSoft functional flows for eligibility determination and packaging automation applied. Configuration emphasis targeted centralized data models and shared parameterization to support consistent aid packaging rules across campuses.
CedarCrestone served as the system integrator for the program and oversaw phased rollout activities across student and finance areas in the United States. The deployment structure used a centralized instance model with phased cutovers beginning in 2015 and a planned completion in 2016, enabling campus level operational teams to transition to unified financial aid processes. Integrations focused on student records and finance areas within the Campus Solutions suite, aligning award and disbursement feeds with institutional student finance workflows.
Governance was organized through the LionPATH program office to coordinate policy harmonization, packaging rules and student self service rollout across campuses. The project specifically aimed to modernize admissions, registration and financial aid processes, improve financial aid packaging and disbursement workflows and provide consolidated student self service capabilities.
