In 2021 Wolffkran used SAP Field Service Management as its Field Service Management solution to mobilize and control complex service schedules for its 700 cranes rental fleet operating worldwide. The cloud based deployment was implemented by Coresystems and mobilized field technicians through a native mobile app that delivers work orders and service instructions directly to fitters and electrical engineers.
The implementation integrated with an SAP ECC 6.0 EHP3 backbone running modules FI, CO, MM, SD and CS. Functional capabilities implemented include mobile work order dispatch and execution, personnel deployment planning, comprehensive service reporting, inventory and spare parts logistics, and structured customer inquiry intake to drive service workflows.
Operational rollout began in Germany in 2012, extended to Switzerland in 2013, and was planned to expand to Great Britain, while the mobile field workforce executes setup, dismantling and service tasks across global rental sites. Integrations between SAP Field Service Management and SAP ECC 6.0 EHP3 were configured to automate order flow, parts consumption and service documentation, creating end to end process continuity between field operations and enterprise finance and materials management.
Process governance was shifted from paper based documentation to automated, paperless workflows, with service orchestration routed through the mobile application and synchronized into ECC for inventory and billing reconciliation, supported by Coresystems for implementation and mobilization. According to the implementation notes, these changes remedied prior documentation deficits and optimized the full service lifecycle from incoming customer inquiries through deployment planning and reporting, delivering direct mobile order delivery and automated parts handling.
