The IBM Power Systems environment was used to centralize compute for SAP, ERP administration, and related application services across IT and operations departments within the manufacturing organization.
Governance and operational controls were structured around IT process ownership for procurement, budget planning, SLA monitoring, change management and training, with the system administrator driving end to end migration activities from Tally ERP9 to SAP HANA and coordinating internal SAP application teams and external vendors. Daily operations responsibilities included performance analysis, backup scheduling, vendor relationship management and lifecycle management of hardware and software on the IBM Power Systems Application Hosting and Computing Services platform.
