Atlas Copco | Manufacturing | 43989 | $12.7B | Sweden | SAP | SAP Business Planning and Consolidation | EPM | 2009 | In 2009, Atlas Copco implemented SAP Business Planning and Consolidation to strengthen its EPM capabilities within the finance organization. The deployment centered on corporate and divisional consolidation workflows and management reporting for planning, consolidation and ad-hoc financial analysis. Within the Compressor Technique Service division the SAP Business Planning and Consolidation environment supported consolidation and analysis for a EUR 1.4 billion turnover unit with roughly 7000 employees, and it handled follow-up of incoming reports from about 180 global operational units. Functional capabilities explicitly used included statutory and management consolidation, acquisition financials and the development of management reports and analytical tools. The implementation maintained integrations with Microsoft Excel and MS PP as reporting and spreadsheet authoring channels, and it was used to integrate acquisition financials for a New Zealand acquisition. Operational scope covered divisional finance, consolidation workflows feeding division management, Business Area and Group reporting, and ad-hoc analysis for division leadership. Governance routed consolidation ownership to the Division Controller, reporting to the Vice President Division Control, and SAP Business Planning and Consolidation responsibilities were retained within the division finance function. Otisco served as the SI VAR on the engagement, supporting configuration and rollout activities for the EPM deployment. |
