In 2020, Synlait Milk implemented Oracle Digital Assistant to introduce Chatbots and Conversational AI capabilities into its HR Shared Services and employee self-service landscape. The engagement targeted HR functions including HR Help Desk, Talent Acquisition, Onboarding and Workforce Planning, and was delivered with Pinpoint as the implementation partner.
The Oracle Digital Assistant installation was configured alongside Oracle Cloud HCM components, specifically HR Core, Oracle Recruitment Cloud, Onboarding, Journeys and HR Help Desk Gen 2, enabling conversational workflows for case intake, candidate engagement and onboarding guidance. Oracle Digital Assistant was used to orchestrate natural language interactions and route HR inquiries into existing HRIS workflows and ticketing processes.
Deployment architecture centered on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and integration with Synlait’s Oracle Cloud HCM and Fusion Warehousing components, with interfaces between the digital assistant and HRIS services to surface employee data, recruitment status and onboarding tasks. The implementation focused on API-driven connectivity to Oracle cloud modules and embedding the assistant within employee touchpoints to support service automation.
Governance and rollout were managed by Synlait’s Head of HR Shared Services, who led the business case, RFI/RFP and program roadmap, aligning the digital assistant workstream with a broader HR cloud program that included AI and machine learning initiatives and participation in Oracle early adopter activity. Operational scope remained concentrated in HR Shared Services and Talent Acquisition, with ongoing program oversight to integrate conversational capabilities into existing HR processes.
