In 2019 Helly Hansen implemented Workday HCM as its Core HR application. The deployment was initiated as part of a group HRIS program led by the Group Head of HR for UK & Ireland who also served as Global HR Projects Lead, with implementation support from PwC and coordination with the parent company team.
The Workday HCM configuration focused on core employee master data and workforce structuring to support multiple restructures, harmonisation of employment terms, and a unified rewards and benefits model. Configuration work explicitly addressed benefits administration, pensions and insurance scheme consolidation, employment terms harmonisation following the Musto Ltd acquisition, and global mobility monitoring and compliance workflows.
Integrations implemented alongside Workday HCM included LinkedIn Learning for learning content consumption, an e-voice survey system for employee review processes, and OneTrust for GDPR and privacy program alignment. Operational coverage extended across HR, Training, Payroll, Health and Safety, and Facilities Management functions, with rollout and governance activities spanning UK and Ireland plus coordination for program requirements across some 19 legal jurisdictions.
Governance and rollout were managed through a global HR project structure, with the Group Head of HR accountable for code of conduct launch, global mobility monitoring, and supplier consolidation for pensions and insurance. The program delivered harmonisation of suppliers and structural changes tied to achieving performance efficiencies and cost savings, while Workday HCM remained the central Core HR system for ongoing employee data and process orchestration.
