Insurance | 3600 | $1.7B | United States | WorkForce Software | WorkForce Absence and Leave | Absence and Leave Management | 2016 |
In 2016, IEHP selected WorkForce Absence and Leave from WorkForce Software to address pervasive manual time and leave processes and inconsistent reporting across the organization. The program was scoped as an enterprise absence solution under the Absence and Leave Management category and was implemented with partner Rizing to centralize absence lifecycle functionality and policy enforcement.
WorkForce Absence and Leave was configured to provide a single view of employee leave status, an end to end one login experience, and rule driven absence workflows. Configuration emphasized complex pay rules common in healthcare, including rules that extend past midnight, multishift premiums and holiday pay, along with leave types and notifications to support state and federal compliance. Reporting and auditability were part of the initial build to replace paper time sheets and recurring manual verifications.
The implementation included a complex integration with the organizations existing payroll system to ensure pay and leave accounting remained synchronized, and it replaced manual time and attendance processes noted during requirements gathering. Operational coverage spanned HR, payroll and application services, with legal engaged to translate and accommodate new California leave provisions. Rizing acted as the systems integrator during design, build and deployment phases.
Governance and rollout followed a documented approach, IEHP took inventory of business requirements, hired a third party consultant to map current state processes, collaborated on a future state and met with each department head to create process flows and diagrams. IEHP went live in December of 2019 and the solution was used during the COVID 19 response, supporting the rapid move of 2,500 employees to remote work in less than two weeks and enabling systematic management of pandemic related leaves.

Insurance | 3600 | $1.7B | United States | Sodales Solutions | Sodales Health, Safety, and Employee Relations | Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) | 2018 |
In 2018, IEHP implemented Sodales Health, Safety, and Employee Relations from vendor Sodales Solutions, classified in the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) category. The initiative was scoped to support a 3,600 person workforce and to centralize occupational health, employee relations, safety operations, and HR-adjacent compliance activities across the organization.
The Sodales Health, Safety, and Employee Relations deployment emphasized core EHS capabilities and configuration. Functional modules implemented included incident and near-miss reporting, medical and case management, return-to-work coordination, compliance recordkeeping and reporting, training and competency tracking, and audit and corrective action workflows tailored to healthcare operational practices.
Implementation and operational support were delivered with Sodales Application Managed Services for ongoing maintenance, and the program was executed alongside a broader HR systems program that included WorkForce Software and SAP SuccessFactors, with implementation partner Rizing engaged for project execution. The application was positioned to operate as a centralized system of record for employee health and safety cases, interfacing operationally with HR governance and employee relations processes.
Governance for the rollout was organized through centralized HR and occupational health leadership, with process modeling and workflow standardization used to translate existing case handling into electronic case management and compliance workflows. Training, policy alignment, and managed services were used to stabilize operations and hand off day-to-day support to the Sodales managed services team after the initial deployment.
