In 2019 GP Strategies implemented Oracle Cloud HCM Payroll in collaboration with Symatrix, going live within nine months of project start. The deployment centered on Oracle Cloud HCM Payroll as the enterprise Payroll application to standardize and operationalize payroll processing across the organization.
The implementation included design and build of multiple complex Pension Solutions, Payroll Absence configuration, Payroll Costing with SLA mapping, National Minimum Wage validation for Salary Sacrifice arrangements, end of year processing, and automated payroll flows and checklists. The Oracle Cloud HCM Payroll implementation relied extensively on complex payroll formula development and BI reporting to support calculation and reconciliation requirements.
Integrations and data movement were a core focus, with OTL Integration implemented to align time and labor inputs to payroll calculations, and extensive use of Payroll Batch Loader and HCM Data Loader for exporting and importing payroll configuration and payroll data such as calculation cards and element entries. Functional Setup Manager was used to drive configuration governance and repeatable setup, and configuration via HDL was established to support ongoing maintenance.
Project governance covered design, build, security and data migration activities, structured testing phases including system integration testing and user acceptance testing, and a parallel run phase prior to go live. The Symatrix Oracle Fusion Payroll consultant role led design and build activities, planned and executed UAT and parallel run, and supported the transition to post go-live support.
GP Strategies completed SIT, UAT, parallel run and go live and moved into post go-live support, with Oracle Cloud HCM Payroll now operating as the core Payroll system for the company.
