In 2020, Oxfam UK engaged Torchbox to deliver Torchbox Wagtail CMS as a Content Management solution for its UK charity and fundraising operations. Torchbox delivered a Wagtail proof-of-concept and built a new volunteering sign-up flow for Oxfam GB as the initial scope of work.
The implementation configured Wagtail to host a form-driven volunteer sign-up workflow alongside content authoring and page templates to support fundraising campaigns. Configuration focused on content models and administrative editing interfaces to enable campaign and volunteer teams to publish and manage recruitment pages without developer intervention.
The volunteering sign-up flow integrated with Salesforce to capture applicant data and create a handoff from the public site into CRM records. Operational coverage was concentrated on UK volunteering and fundraising use cases, with the proof-of-concept deployed for Oxfam GB and data flows directed to existing CRM processes.
Torchbox acted as the implementation partner delivering the PoC and build components, and the project generated approximately 1,000 registrations in the first month, helping to reverse a volunteer shortfall.
