Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Power BI Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2019 2019
In 2019, Ai Group implemented Microsoft Power BI to centralize enterprise reporting. Microsoft Power BI was deployed within the Analytics and BI environment to provide interactive dashboards and ad hoc analysis supporting CRM and finance workflows across the organization in Australia. The implementation focused on modeling Dataverse tables and Dynamics 365 CE CRM entities as canonical reporting datasets, and on configuring workspaces and role based access to align with existing security roles in Dynamics 365 CE. Microsoft Power BI workspaces and dataset refresh schedules were configured alongside Power Platform administration to manage storage and dataset lineage, enabling standardized reporting artifacts for CRM and invoicing processes. Integration points referenced in the environment included the Dataverse instance and Dynamics 365 CE for transactional CRM data, with Microsoft Power Automate pipelines used to deliver invoice and transactional feeds into the reporting layer. SQL Server Reporting Services based paginated reports were maintained for formatted operational documents while Microsoft Power BI provided interactive visualizations and self service analytics for business users. Governance and operational support were administered through the Power Platform admin centre, including monitoring storage, backup and restore of the Dataverse instance, configuring Dynamics 365 CE security roles, and handling deployments and troubleshooting. The deployment positioned Microsoft Power BI inside Ai Group Analytics and BI to support CRM operations and customer invoice reporting while preserving existing paginated reporting workflows.
