In 2010, Aramark implemented SAP Ariba Invoice as part of its AP Automation footprint to centralize invoice lifecycle activities and control multi-step billing adjustments. The deployment focused on invoice processing and exception handling while customer billing, CPI changes, and revenue accruals continued to be analyzed in Oracle, providing financial data context for accounts payable operations.
SAP Ariba Invoice was configured to process billing adjustments, discounts, concessions, and to handle voided and reissued invoices, aligning invoice lifecycle controls with AP Automation functional workflows. Configuration emphasized invoice validation, exception routing, and structured handling of voids and reissues to ensure transactions were recorded consistently, while contract-driven tax setup logic was applied to invoice creation and tax determination.
The implementation operated with an operational integration pattern between SAP Ariba Invoice and Oracle financial analysis, using Oracle as the source for billing, CPI, and accrual data that informed invoice treatment in Ariba. Contract documentation review was incorporated into the workflow to determine customer billing setup for tax purposes and to validate the appropriateness of invoice adjustments against contractual terms.
Governance and control processes were formalized to require documented approvals for invoice voids, reissues, and material adjustments, with reviews of submitted documentation used to confirm approval evidence and appropriateness of actions. These controls reinforced AP Automation auditability and created repeatable workflows for accounts payable, billing, tax determination, and revenue accounting teams.

In 2012 Aramark deployed UKG Workforce Central Absence Manager ex Kronos Workforce Absence Manager to address Absence and Leave Management for hourly workforces across its United States operations. The implementation centered on the absence management capability within the broader Workforce Central suite and was aligned with a corporate initiative to unify timekeeping for hourly employees in the United States.
Configuration work included calculated accruals, absence management, Workforce Device Manager, Data Collection Manager, SDM, and WIM modules across WFC 6.0 through 7.0 environments. The project also encompassed Workforce Payroll, Benefits, and Human Resources components of Kronos Workforce Payroll 6.2 for two hospital sites, plus installation and configuration of Kronos Connect, DCM, and Process Manager on client servers.
Integrations were explicitly implemented to transfer payroll and time data to SAP and ADP, and to import employee master data from PeopleSoft, with inbound WIM interfaces and outbound payroll hours and wage interfaces maintained in production. The implementation included general ledger interface testing, new punch export from enterprise eTime, punch import into Workforce Central, and configuration of a parallel payroll database and comparison queries to validate data across systems.
Governance and rollout activities included creation of a Requirements Traceability Matrix to track development, acting as liaison between business stakeholders and the Kronos technical team, and end to end project management from kickoff through go live and hypercare. Operationalization work covered development of payrules, workrules, paycode profiles, wage profiles, accrual and shift differential configuration, hyperfind queries, shift and pattern templates, function access profiles, training materials, supervisor and payroll training, and Tier II support for timekeeping and leave modules.

Operational scope covered maintenance, operations, and facility management functions within Aramark Chile, with platform access provisioned for field technicians and operations managers across distributed sites. The implementation relied on cloud access and mobile clients to ensure task control and visibility were available to users regardless of location, improving response capabilities to client requests and service events.
Governance and process changes included shifting from a single-person centric workflow to a collaborative input model, standardizing how tasks are recorded and updated, and centralizing information for decision making. Outcomes reported by Aramark included centralized, real time information, improved ability to make operational decisions, faster client responses, and access to an ongoing support team from the vendor that Aramark cited as key to sustaining the platform.
