In 2010, Bank of England configured SAP Business Suite through a SAP R3 implementation, establishing a core ERP Financial platform to support centralized finance operations. The SAP Business Suite deployment focused on core financial modules, including financial accounting, general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable, with configuration work performed in SAP R3 to align chart of accounts, posting rules and period close processes with institutional accounting requirements. The implementation emphasized role based security and functional configuration rather than bespoke extensions, reflecting a standard SAP R3 configuration approach within the ERP Financial category.
Operational scope centered on the Bank of England finance and accounting organization, where the SAP Business Suite instance was used to standardize bookkeeping, transaction posting and financial reporting workflows. Governance actions included configuration of approval workflows, segregation of duties controls and configuration driven process enforcement, coupled with phased rollouts to finance subfunctions to validate posting, reconciliation and close procedures before full operational use.

| Temenos | Legacy | Temenos T24 | Core Banking | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2012 | 2012 |
In 2012, Bank of England implemented Temenos T24 as its Core Banking application. The Temenos T24 deployment was used to support payments processing activities for CHAPS and CBPR+ and to centralize core account and payment orchestration within the institution.
Implementation work focused on enabling ISO 20022 messaging within Temenos T24 and configuring payment workflow and message routing. The deployment exercised payment processing and messaging capabilities in Temenos T24, with test coverage targeting PACS, MT, PAIN, TRCK and Camt message families across inbound and outbound flows to validate movement of funds and subsequent message generation.
Integrations were explicitly executed with SAA, the Swift payment tool, and with an FCRM financial crime risk management system, passing simulated payment traffic through SAA and FCRM into and out of Temenos T24. Operational scope covered payments operations, business analysts and business payments teams, with testing and acceptance driven by a dedicated QA function to validate end to end payment flows.
Governance and process design included requirement analysis, compilation of a detailed test matrix and scripted test cases, ongoing requirements updates tied to change control, and daily reporting to stakeholders. A Senior Test Analyst with SC level clearance authored test scripts, mentored team members, assigned tests and led meetings with BAs and the business team to ensure comprehensive coverage.
