SAP Legacy SAP Business Suite ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2007 2007
In 2007, ExxonMobil implemented SAP Business Suite as an ERP Financial platform. The program coordinated multiple concurrent projects and was supported by a managed team of 90 resources operating across several regions, including global upgrade activities and regional implementations. The implementation emphasized SAP Business Suite core ERP capabilities, centering on SAP ECC 6.0 for transactional finance and procurement processing and a regional SAP 4.0 deployment in Asia. Functional scope included financial accounting and controlling workflows, procurement processing, travel and expense processing via Ariba Travel & Expense, category procurement via Ariba Category Procurement, and enterprise reporting through SAP Business Warehouse. Architecturally, the program positioned SAP Business Suite ECC 6.0 as the transactional backbone integrated with SAP Business Warehouse for consolidated reporting and with Ariba modules for procurement and travel orchestration. Project workstreams included project viability studies for SAP Master Data Management and SAP Supplier Relationship Management to assess master data governance and supplier lifecycle integration. Program governance combined centralized coordination of global SAP upgrades with staged regional rollout planning, multi-project resource management for the 90 person team, and targeted viability and alignment studies to inform future master data and supplier management investments. The narrative documents ExxonMobil SAP Business Suite ERP Financial adoption across finance and procurement business functions and the architectural coupling of ECC 6.0, SAP Business Warehouse, and Ariba modules.

SAP Legacy SAP HCM Leave Management Absence and Leave Management HCM n/a 2010 2010
In 2010 ExxonMobil implemented SAP HCM Leave Management as an Absence and Leave Management solution to formalize Time Management in North America. The deployment concentrated on end to end HR time entry and payroll business process design from hire to retire, with explicit coverage of time capture, time evaluation, and quota lifecycle management. The implementation configured SAP CATS timesheet integration with core SAP modules including Project Systems and Controlling, and delivered targeted enhancements to the CATS timesheet to support cross module time posting. A custom time evaluation schema Z001 without clock time was developed, accompanied by extensive Personnel Calculation Rule configuration for holiday rules, extra maintenance hours, quota calculations based on attendance and absence, and FLSA overtime rules. Design and development work included a custom user exit to enforce maximum quota accrual limits and quota deduction logic. SAP HCM Leave Management configuration encompassed complete quota management capabilities, including seniority based quota generation, validity and deduction rules, accrual periods, transfer periods, reduction and rounding rules, base entitlement, and quota generation rules aligned to the custom time evaluation schema. Custom PCRs were written in both time and payroll to calculate overtime, shift differential, extra hours, holiday pay, quota accrual pro ration time, regular hours, and paid and unpaid absence hours. The project executed multiple testing cycles including unit testing, integration testing, parallel testing, and smoke testing to validate integrations and calculations. Operational scope covered HR and Payroll functions with downstream impacts to Project Accounting and Controlling, and employee self service and manager self service for time and payroll were configured using iView. Governance centered on controlled PCR and quota rule configuration to align time evaluation with payroll processing and absence management, supported by iterative enhancement and testing workflows.

Baker Hughes Legacy Bently Nevada System 1 Asset Performance Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2017 2017
In 2017 ExxonMobil implemented Bently Nevada System 1 for Asset Performance Management. The implementation was tied to the control systems portion of a $70 million accelerated power boiler installation, where teams determined DCS requirements, assessed vendor proposals, participated in field acceptance testing, coordinated installation and power on, and performed initial HPM and IOP configuration within Bently Nevada System 1. Bently Nevada System 1 was configured to provide online machinery condition monitoring and initial HPM IOP workflows, with emphasis on high performance monitoring, alarming and trending consistent with Asset Performance Management practices. Configuration work included initial sensor and channel provisioning, baseline trending setup, and early-stage alarm thresholds to support commissioning of boiler rotating equipment. Operational integration included coordination with Honeywell Experion stations and other plant control centers, and administration within the refinery Purdue L3 process control network covering 12 control centers. The program maintained physical and virtual platform backups using VMware vSphere, VEEAM Backup and Replication, and Acronis Backup, and troubleshooting extended to LCN and UCN cabling issues with XLCNE extender hardware and associated fiber optic runs, including participation in two LCN studies with Azbil consultants to isolate cable errors. Governance and operational rollout combined technical and people elements, with ExxonMobil personnel leading a Honeywell hardware refresh that built more than 75 Experion stations and EAPPs and training new technicians on station build processes. Break in activities were coordinated with operators, unit maintenance, and engineering to resolve issues while minimizing downtime and ensuring loss free work, and operator console updates extended process visibility, added trending monitors, and improved ergonomics as part of the operational acceptance steps.
