In 2018, Greenberg Traurig deployed Aderant Expert for Legal Practice Management to centralize accounts payable and payments processing across the firm. The Aderant Expert implementation supports check printing, wires and ACH workflows and underpins operations across 26 offices while co managing an international Accounts Payable team of 18 with staff in Miami, New York, Washington DC, Arizona and Warsaw.
Aderant Expert was configured for check printing and payment disbursement workflows with bank connectivity to Wells Fargo and payments routing via Western Union, and the AP team administered virtual credit card provisioning using the AirPlus Wright Express PCard program for online government filings. Expense management remained integrated through Chrome River, where an Administrator and Super User led a hands on upgrade to Mercury, including project management, creation of a testing suite, execution of testing cycles, and rollout to all US offices. Annual 1099 processing and electronic submittal to the IRS and state agencies were managed using Yearly as part of the financial close and vendor reporting cycle.
Operational governance included developing standardized AP policies and procedures, creating documentation for all departmental processes, and running hiring, training, mentoring, annual reviews and disciplinary actions for the AP team. The Purchase Log Administrator role established user provisioning and controls for virtual card use, and focused vendor research and rework produced a documented vendor change that delivered a stated $65,000 in annual savings. Greenberg Traurig used Aderant Expert within its Legal Practice Management environment to consolidate payments, vendor administration and AP controls alongside expense system administration and bank integrations.
