In 2009, Gucci US implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0. SAP ERP ECC 6.0 served as the core ERP Financial system, centralizing transactional finance processes and providing a single record for inventory valuation and accounting.
The implementation emphasized finance and inventory transactional controls, including financial accounting and ledger consolidation, accounts payable and receivable interfaces, and inventory accounting workflows consistent with an ERP Financial deployment. Configuration work focused on master data stabilization and transaction posting rules to support downstream supply chain and warehouse processes.
Integrations and operational monitoring were explicitly extended later through tooling that linked SAP ERP ECC 6.0 with JDA and the company WMS, these monitoring tools were used to identify systematic defects and resolve a reported 12 million dollar product backlog. Governance evolved to include centralized monitoring dashboards and a cross functional inventory governance process that fed insights to senior leadership, enabling a liquidation strategy and DC to back of house inventory reallocations that reduced excess allocation to NORAM direct stores by 12% and produced recurring month to month cost savings reported at 21%.
