| SAP | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2022 | 2022 |
In 2022, Marico implemented SAP S/4 HANA, moving its transactional backbone from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to the SAP S/4 HANA platform. The initiative targeted core finance and order management continuity while leveraging the in-memory HANA database foundation to consolidate transactional processing under an ERP Financial scope. The company context includes an internal Business Applications Manager responsible for Sales and Distribution in SAP ECC and existing employee processes managed through SAP SuccessFactors.
The implementation preserved and reconfigured Sales and Distribution functionality, aligning order-to-cash workflows with SAP S/4 HANA financial ledgers. Configuration work included Financial Accounting and Controlling aligned to the ERP Financial category, master data harmonization for customers and materials, and mapping of SD to FI interfaces to support invoicing and receivables processing. The SAP S/4 HANA application was instrumented for standard finance and operational accounting capabilities typical of large SAP ERP Financial deployments.
Integrations explicitly included SAP SuccessFactors for employee processes, maintaining HR process continuity alongside the SAP S/4 HANA deployment. The project included migration and conversion of transactional and master records from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 into the new S/4 HANA data model, preserving existing SD functional coverage while consolidating financial transactions on the HANA platform. The architecture centered on SAP S/4 HANA as the unified transactional engine with integrated SD to FI flows.
Governance adjustments emphasized centralized master data governance and change control to manage cross functional impacts between finance and sales. Operational ownership retained the Business Applications Manager for Sales and Distribution as a continuity point for SD process decisions, while finance stakeholders assumed stewardship for ERP Financial processes. The narrative reflects an SAP S/4 HANA implementation that unified finance and sales process execution and integrated employee process alignment via SAP SuccessFactors.

| SAP | SAP HCM (HR) | SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019 Marico deployed SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central to replace SAP HCM (HR) as its Core HR system. The deployment targeted a multinational HR footprint covering India, Bangladesh, South East Asia, the Middle East and Africa across 25 countries, and aligned with HR-IT, HR Operations, Rewards and Global Mobility functions led by a centralized HR team.
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central was configured as the authoritative employee master and organization management layer, implementing Core HR capabilities such as workforce master data, position and job profile management, organizational structure modeling and employee lifecycle events. The implementation extended to talent and performance workflows, with SAP SuccessFactors modules used to digitize goal management, performance reviews and talent calibration, and an AI-enabled digital assistant introduced to support employee experience and HR service automation.
The program was instrumented to support Total Rewards and compensation planning workflows, including manpower cost planning and budgeting, executive and board remuneration processes, long term incentive frameworks, and variable pay design. The implementation supported Global Mobility and expatriate frameworks and was integrated operationally with HR shared services and HR-IT processes to enable goal audit, goal review and incentive governance across the region set.
Governance and process changes accompanied the technical rollout, with institutionalization of a Total Rewards Framework, pay for performance governance, job evaluation (Hay) on critical roles, succession and talent depth planning, and controls for incentive payouts and compliance. Operational ownership remained with HR-IT, Rewards and HR Operations, and the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central deployment served as the platform for ongoing digitization of workforce planning, organization design and talent management.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP BW (Business Warehouse) | Data Warehouse | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2015 | 2015 |
In 2015, Marico implemented SAP BW (Business Warehouse) as a Data Warehouse platform to centralize analytics for its consumer packaged goods operations. The deployment leveraged SAP BW/BI 7.3 capabilities to provision enterprise reporting, query, and analytics services across the organization.
Implementation work centered on SAP BW (Business Warehouse) data modeling using an extended star schema approach, development of data extraction routines, and load processes with both full and delta upload patterns. Business Explorer query design and reporting were configured to support ad hoc analytics and scheduled reports. The project included ETL mappings, InfoProvider design, and transformation logic aligned to SAP BW/BI 7.3 design patterns.
Data extraction and loading workflows were built to ingest transactional source data and consolidate it into BW InfoProviders, enabling cross-functional data views. The Data Warehouse implementation supported business functions including finance, sales, supply chain, and marketing analytics through consolidated reporting and query layers. Operational coverage targeted enterprise reporting and analytics for Marico without specifying individual source systems.
Governance concentrated on formalizing data modeling standards, instituting delta load scheduling discipline, and defining BEx query ownership to establish consistent reporting cadences. Rollout activities emphasized controlled promotion of configurations from development to production and centralized oversight of query and report design.
