In 2015 Ministry for Primary Industries implemented TechnologyOne ERP as the core financial management solution. TechnologyOne ERP was configured in an ERP Financial role to centralize financial management information system capabilities, bringing accounts processing, management accounting and cost recovery workflows into a single platform across Corporate Services and the wider organisation.
The implementation focused on functional modules including consolidation of accounts receivable billing systems into the core FMIS, automation opportunities within accounts payable, and the development of allocation models for overheads and external reporting views such as Output and Memorandum reporting. Configuration work emphasized consistent customer facing presentation and process standardization while enabling business users and approvers to perform transactional finance functions within the TechnologyOne ERP environment.
Operational workstreams included planning and managing system update and upgrade activities in collaboration with vendors, systems engineers and DBAs, and maintaining interfaces with Internal and External Audit for compliance and reporting. The rollout spanned management accounting, cost recovery and transactional finance areas, and involved cross‑organisation collaboration and capability building with counterparts across the public sector to extend Finance and FMIS skills in TechnologyOne functionalities.
Governance and process changes were driven by a program to align, rationalise and automate billing and transactional processes into the core FMIS, combined with training and mentoring of junior staff to embed new workflows. Explicitly stated outcomes included improved processes, introduced efficiency and an improved customer experience through consistent practices and a common look and feel, while enabling more efficient processing within the TechnologyOne ERP platform.

In 2013, the Ministry for Primary Industries implemented Olympic Go as an enterprise wide time, expenses and leave recording solution. The deployment used Olympic Go to address core Absence and Leave Management,Time and Attendance requirements and to centralize timesheet capture across the agency.
The project commenced in May 2013 and included configuration of Go timesheets, expense recording and leave workflows, with a client invoicing pilot and a go live planned for early 2016. Olympic Go data was integrated with MPI's BI reporting tools to feed time and cost allocation reporting, and the system provided increased visibility of where staff time was spent including during a national fruit fly response.
The implementation covered HR and finance process support across New Zealand and was executed as an enterprise wide rollout with phased piloting of invoicing workflows prior to full go live. Governance focused on aligning time capture, expense and leave approvals with payroll and finance workflows, and on instrumenting Olympic Go as the single source for staff time reporting used by MPI analytics.
