| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021, OP Financial Group implemented SAP S/4 HANA. SAP S/4 HANA was deployed as an ERP Financial application to centralize finance operations across the Finland-based organization of roughly 14,000 employees.
The implementation emphasized financial module configuration, with explicit use of SAP S/4 HANA capabilities aligned to SAP FICO skillsets identified on project resources. Deployment activities included detailed cutover planning and business cutover tasks to ensure business readiness for go-live, and testing coordination for inbound and outbound systems.
Integration and migration considerations were treated as core technical tracks, requiring cross-functional understanding of the organization’s existing system landscape, inbound and outbound interfaces, and data migration sequencing. Project communications included presentations and alignment with top management and external consulting partners to coordinate integration, testing cycles, and defect triage.
Governance and delivery followed Agile ways of working with JIRA based task management, a designated testing coordinator role, and a defect fixing coordinator to react and coordinate rapid fixes during cutover. Operational governance focused on business readiness, structured cutover execution, and cross-team orchestration across finance functions, reflecting an enterprise ERP Financial rollout approach.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP SuccessFactors Compensation | Compensation Management | HCM | n/a | 2015 | 2015 |
In 2015, OP Financial Group implemented SAP SuccessFactors Compensation as its Compensation Management solution. The deployment centralized compensation program administration within HR Services and the broader compensation function at the bank, establishing SAP SuccessFactors Compensation as the primary tool for pay program configuration and approval orchestration.
SAP SuccessFactors Compensation was configured to support core Compensation Management capabilities including compensation plan configuration, eligibility rules, approval workflows, merit and bonus calculations, and payment process orchestration. The implementation explicitly connected SuccessFactors with the SAP HR landscape to consume employee master data and to coordinate payment handoffs, reflecting an integrated HR application architecture and a system owner model for Compensation.
Governance was formalized through a concept owner role responsible for compensation program design, implementing system support in SAP HR and SuccessFactors, and ensuring payment processes complied with regulatory requirements. Operational responsibilities included delivering customer service and professional support via multiple channels, and coordinating with service providers and partners to maintain ongoing program administration.
Operational scope covered HR Services, compensation teams, and payroll-related processes within OP Financial Group, with the system owner function based in Helsinki driving process development according to strategy and business needs. The implementation emphasized controlled configuration, centralized approval workflows, and compliance alignment rather than ad hoc local pay adjustments.

| Pegasystems | Legacy | Pega Platform | Business Process Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020, OP Financial Group implemented Pega Platform to centralize customer decisioning through Pega Customer Decision Hub as part of a Business Process Management initiative focused on predictive, personalized customer engagement. The deployment targeted the group’s customer engagement and marketing capabilities, aligning a cooperative banking footprint with a centralized decisioning architecture designed for real-time orchestration.
The implementation emphasized Pega Customer Decision Hub and Pega Next Best Action Marketing, with configuration of adaptive AI models, arbitration logic, and a broad content library to support context-aware recommendations. Always-on actions were built into the platform, and the team instrumented adaptive model arbitration so that approximately 80 percent of marketing selections run through real-time optimization. The project delivered a phased rollout, bringing the OP Mobile App live as the first channel within four months and expanding functional modules for outbound orchestration, inbound data ingestion, and content-to-customer matching.
Operational integration covered seven channels including the OP Mobile App, website, secure inbox, SMS, email, and branch interactions, enabling consistent messaging and real-time decisioning across inbound and outbound touchpoints. The solution used inbound customer data to drive outbound offers and recommendations, and it centralized decision logic in a single decisioning engine that consolidated decisioning previously distributed across three systems. Operational scope included customer engagement, marketing automation, and branch channel workflows across OP Financial Group in Finland.
Governance and change management were core components of the rollout, with leadership roadshows and stakeholder alignment used to secure acceptance from team leads and key business owners. A centralized governance model was instituted to coordinate content, model stewardship, and channel rules, and the organization adopted a continuous learning approach to iterate models and operational processes.
Results reported by the program include over 250 always-on next best actions live, seven integrated channels, adaptive AI selecting and optimizing about 80 percent of marketing actions in real time, and OP Mobile App engagement of roughly 1.6 million monthly active users with 55 million monthly sign-ins. These outcomes supported a move from traditional marketing automation toward a data-driven, real-time Business Process Management model for customer engagement.
