In 2016, PSCU implemented SAP Concur Expense as its Expense Management solution to centralize expense reporting and travel-related expense capture for Accounting and Finance. The deployment was managed under the accounting technology function and positioned SAP Concur Expense as the primary expense reporting system within PSCUs financial application portfolio.
The implementation covered core expense management capabilities including electronic expense reporting, travel expense integration, policy enforcement, approvals workflow configuration, and receipt capture workflows. Configuration work included capacity planning and system sizing, installation and versioning controls, and optimization of expense approval routing to align with existing accounting close and accounts payable processes.
Integrations were established with PSCUs existing financial and document systems, including Oracle EPM Hyperion for accounting and financial close data, OBIEE OAS for business intelligence and reporting, Hyland OnBase for document workflow and archival, Hyland OCR for AnyDoc for receipt ingestion, and Arcplan for ERP reporting. The IT organization supported infrastructure connections by provisioning servers assigned to the Accounting Department, managing firewall port requests, DNS records, and network storage to ensure secure connectivity between SAP Concur Expense and on premise financial systems.
Governance for the SAP Concur Expense rollout emphasized technical documentation, version control, patching procedures, and operational ownership between Finance and IT. Technical documentation captured installation and configuration steps, integration mappings, issue remediation, and ongoing maintenance responsibilities to sustain compliance and supportability of the Expense Management application.
