In 2006, Riddell implemented SAP Apparel and Footwear (SAP AFS) to address apparel-centric retail workflows within its broader Retail Management environment. The implementation centered on bringing apparel and footwear specific data models and merchandising processes into a unified retail application landscape, aligning article lifecycles with store and distribution planning.
The SAP Apparel and Footwear deployment included configuration of apparel article master and size and color matrix capabilities, assortment and collection planning, retail pricing and promotion controls, allocation and replenishment rules, and returns processing. Architecturally the project integrated SAP AFS with SAP for Retail to synchronize master data, inventory positions, and transaction flows between merchandising and point of sale processing. Operational ownership and governance focused on consolidating product master data and standardizing retail workflows across merchandising, planning, and sales distribution teams, ensuring consistent article hierarchies and pricing rules across the Retail Management stack.
