SAP SAP R/3 SAP ERP ECC 6.0 ERP Financial ERP n/a 2006 2007
In 2006, Sapura Energy implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0, replacing SAP R/3 as its enterprise financial system. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 deployment established a centralized ERP Financial backbone for Sapura Energy to support finance and accounting across its oil, gas and chemicals operations and corporate finance organization. The implementation emphasized core financial modules within SAP ERP ECC 6.0, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting and Controlling, with configuration for bank accounting, period end closing and statutory reporting. Configuration work aligned chart of accounts harmonization, accounting document posting controls and fixed asset lifecycle management to typical ECC 6.0 financial workflows and oil and gas accounting requirements. The project consolidated transactional finance processes into a single SAP ERP ECC 6.0 instance to support accounting, asset management and financial consolidation across corporate and operational business units. As a migration from SAP R/3, the program established SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the authoritative ERP Financial system for Sapura Energy. Governance and process workstreams formalized standardized month end close procedures, centralized chart of accounts governance and financial approval workflows, and defined ongoing support and release management practices consistent with ECC 6.0 lifecycle management. The implementation positioned SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to support core finance functions and compliance activities for Sapura Energy within the ERP Financial category.

SAP Legacy SAP HCM (HR) Core HR HCM n/a 2018 2018
In 2018, Sapura Energy implemented SAP HCM (HR) in a Core HR deployment to centralize personnel administration, workforce planning, and payroll costing for its Malaysia operations. The engagement was documented through finance and HR activities that used SAP to develop HR models, analyze results and forecasts, and support business plan inputs and project manpower loading. Configuration and functional scope emphasized personnel administration, workforce planning models, and payroll costing driven by time data, with SAP HCM (HR) used to interpret data, determine past performance and forecast outcomes. Functional capabilities cited in internal role notes include development of HR models, payroll costing based on a timesheet system, preparation of monthly staff detail reports for HQ compilation and insurance reporting, and support for business plan and project manpower loading. Integrations and operational coverage included consumption of timesheet system inputs for payroll costing and operational coordination across HR, Administration and Accounts teams on staffing, payroll and contract matters. Operational workflows extended to project manpower loading processes and recurring monthly reporting to headquarters, with explicit notification chains to LAS, Attendance, Contract, Payroll functions and heads of department. Governance and process orchestration were oriented around formal proposal preparation for management approvals, HOD notification and confirmation on manpower and payroll strategies, and letter distribution routines prepared by the Contract Team. The SAP HCM (HR) Core HR deployment therefore combined workforce planning, time-driven payroll costing and cross-department notification workflows to support staffing and payroll processes.

SAP Legacy SAP BW (Business Warehouse) Data Warehouse Analytics and BI n/a 2021 2021
In 2021, Sapura Energy implemented SAP BW (Business Warehouse) as its enterprise Data Warehouse to consolidate procurement and project reporting for T&I projects, EPCIC projects, subsea services, and geosciences operations. The deployment established a centralized reporting layer intended to support sourcing, commercial bid evaluation, and project decision making across the buyer team and project stakeholders. The SAP BW (Business Warehouse) implementation configured standard Data Warehouse capabilities including ETL and data staging, data modeling and semantic layer construction, and query and reporting services for ad hoc and scheduled analytics. Implementation work focused on building InfoProvider structures, persistent staging objects and query artifacts to surface procurement and commercial datasets to business users. SAP BW was provisioned to ingest and reconcile transactional and operational feeds from procurement and supplier systems, explicitly aligning with SAP MM and SAP ARIBA as source systems, and consolidating supplementary operational inputs from SYMPHONY and EyeShare. The integration design emphasized procurement master data, RFQ and contract records, and project-level cost and logistics information to provide a unified dataset for commercial and technical bid evaluations. Governance and operational rollout prioritized procurement and project teams, embedding data ownership and review points into existing buyer team workflows and end user decision cycles. Reporting and data access controls were structured to support commercial bid evaluation processes and to ensure active collaboration between the buyer function and project teams during sourcing and contract review.
