In 2021 Slalom launched an internal Oracle Cloud ERP implementation to standardize core finance operations across its business. The program was a global internal effort for Slalom, a $3B consulting firm headquartered in Seattle, and represented the largest program the company had undertaken, engaging more than 250 internal participants over an 18 month timeline and producing roughly 85,000 hours of effort and over 12,000 artifacts.
The deployment centered on Oracle Cloud ERP and targeted ERP Financial capabilities, implementing core financial modules such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement and project accounting aligned to services firm needs. Configuration efforts emphasized chart of accounts harmonization, transactional processing standardization, period close orchestration and automation of recurring financial workflows. Workstreams included template driven configuration and shared validation rules to support multi entity accounting and consolidated financial reporting.
Oracle Cloud ERP was integrated with Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow, Changepoint and other internal business systems to maintain end to end data flows across sales, HR, IT service management and professional services automation. Integrations were scoped for master data synchronization, transaction handoffs for billing and resource cost capture, and linkage between ITSM cases and financial chargeback processes, using API based connectivity and standardized data models to reduce reconciliation points.
Governance was led by a contracted program leader from September 2021 to March 2023 who coordinated cross functional workstreams, artifact review cycles and release governance across finance, HR and services delivery. The rollout used staged wave planning to align with period close and billing cycles and employed detailed artifact tracking and traceability for over 12,000 deliverables. The program was delivered on time and under budget.

In 2018 Slalom deployed Sterling Background Check from Sterling Talent Solutions to centralize new hire screening for its U.S. workforce. The Sterling Background Check implementation served the BackGround Screening needs of HR Operations and Talent Acquisition during onboarding for full time employees, remote staff, interns, contractors and contingent workers.
Implementation work focused on configuring SterlingONE/Talentwise screening workflows inside Sterling Background Check and embedding I-9 verification and compliance checkpoints into onboarding workflows. Configuration included orchestration of multi-step screening checks, candidate status tracking, and integration points to support offer generation gating within the hiring process.
Operational integrations tied Sterling Background Check to Workday for employee record updates and to Jobscience placement records, with HR Operations responsible for troubleshooting and resolving integration issues. The implementation also leveraged AdobeSign and SharePoint to manage templates and document workflows, and required coordination across Talent Acquisition, IT, Legal, Compensation and executive stakeholders.
Governance rested with HR Operations, which oversaw the background check process, served as the escalation point for screening exceptions, and maintained the I-9 verification and compliance program controls. Sterling Background Check provided the BackGround Screening capability used to enforce screening policies and to instrument screening status visibility within Slalom onboarding workflows.
