Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP Financial ERP Pro Strategy 2023 2024
In 2023 Specialist Group implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as its core ERP Financial platform to unify fragmented data and provide a 360-degree view across manufacturing, projects, and finance. The deployment targeted finance, project management, manufacturing operations, warehouse management, purchasing, and client-facing teams to eliminate silos and provide real-time visibility into work in progress and project profitability. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central was configured to deliver finance, projects, manufacturing, and warehouse management capabilities, including a mobile scanning and barcode solution for shop floor transactions. The implementation included automation of job creation and routings from CAD drawings, and configuration of suggested purchase order workflows to simplify procurement and inventory replenishment. The solution was integrated with Specialist Group’s CAD drawings system to remove duplicate data entry, and Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement was deployed alongside Business Central to centralise client information and streamline sales and service processes. Jet Reports and Power BI were implemented to provide finance and executive stakeholders with operational and financial reporting, enabling timely decision support across project managers, purchasing, and shop floor supervisors. Pro Strategy served as the implementation partner for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central deployment. Governance and process changes focused on centralising client knowledge, standardising shop floor scanning and barcode procedures, and embedding automated routings from CAD into operational planning. Workflows were restructured to surface real-time WIP and project status to project managers and finance, reducing dependence on individual subject matter experts for critical project information. Specialist Group realizes explicit business benefits from the implementation, including real-time project progress and profitability visibility for project managers and finance, enhanced client communications, auto-created jobs and routings from CAD, simplified and automated shop floor processes via mobile scanning and barcoding, improved inventory management through real-time data, auto-generation of suggested purchase orders, higher lead to order conversion rates, elimination of duplicate effort, increased productivity, fewer project delays due to improved visibility, and higher customer satisfaction.
