Configuration emphasized role based approvals, expense type coding, and audit controls to streamline month end expense reporting and enforce corporate expense policy.
Integrations included timecard approval and reporting data surfaced from Kronos to validate non travel related expense eligibility, interfacing with EPIC for clinical employee reference data where applicable, and connections to internal ordering workflows for office supplies to reconcile procurement related expenses. These integrations supported end to end expense verification between operational systems and SAP Concur Expense.
Governance work focused on centralizing expense policy enforcement, standardizing approval matrices, and embedding audit checkpoints in workflows to improve compliance. In 2020 SSM Health implemented Workday Absence Management to centralize absence and leave workflows as part of its broader Workday HCM and FIN program. The Workday Absence Management deployment is classified under Absence and Leave Management and was provisioned to support HR, payroll, benefits, and timekeeping functions for SSM Health’s 40,000 employees in the United States.
The implementation included configuration of Workday Absence Management alongside Core HCM, Payroll, Finance, Procurement, Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits, and Time tracking. Absence configuration encompassed absence event types, eligibility rules, absence plans and accruals, and integration points with time tracking and benefits enrollment, while supervisory organizations, staffing models, positions, and cost center hierarchies were created to reflect enterprise staffing and approval chains.
Integrations and data movement were executed using PICOF integrations for the payroll interface with ADP and a Studio integration to interface HCM data with SAP Fieldglass, complemented by Core Connectors and EIB I-Loads for financial and master data transformations. Reporting and analytic consolidation used the Workday PRISM Analytics platform to merge Workday data with existing datasets for operational visibility.
Governance and rollout followed a full implementation lifecycle including requirement gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, system and user acceptance testing, and cutover. Validation rules, business processes, and production-ready configurations were developed and promoted from sandbox after testing, and data conversion and cutover activities were performed to operationalize Workday Absence Management across HR and payroll workflows.
