In 2021, State Bank of India implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as an ERP Financial deployment. The rollout included an SBI HRMS delivery program managed from September 2021 to December 2021 under a Delivery Engagement Manager who oversaw three concurrent projects with a 60-person delivery team.
SAP ERP ECC 6.0 implementations covered HCM with ECC 6.0-EHP6, SAP-BOBJ for reporting, BODS for data integration, Sybase as the database platform, SAP Basis administration, NetWeaver Enterprise Portal version 7.3, FIORI and SAP Mobile application layers, and SAP Extended ECM by OpenText. Integration work focused on connecting HCM payroll and personnel processes to enterprise reporting and data services, portal and mobile access via NetWeaver and FIORI, and content management through SAP Extended ECM. The SBI HRMS program explicitly covered a large operational population including approximately 300,000 employees and 250,000 pensioners, reflecting broad HR and pension lifecycle reach across the bank.
Delivery governance included planning and estimation, transformation scheduling, task allocation, monitoring and control, and formal reviews. The Delivery Engagement Manager role provided domain and technical leadership, knowledge management, relationship management and partner satisfaction, and instituted process improvement practices such as risk management, communication protocols, defect management and prevention, status reporting with metrics generation, staffing and onboarding, skill building and backup planning, mentoring, employee satisfaction activities, and handling appraisals and feedback.
