SAP Legacy SAP Ariba Invoice AP Automation ERP Financial Management n/a 2016 2017
In 2016, Thai Union Group implemented SAP Ariba Invoice as an AP Automation platform to standardize accounts payable and invoicing workflows across its Treasury and Finance Shared Services. Thai Union Group implemented SAP Ariba Invoice in support of its accounts payable business function and Treasury and Finance Shared Services, aligning the Company Application Category Business Function relationship as Thai Union Group SAP Ariba Invoice AP Automation Treasury and Finance Shared Services. The deployment concentrated on AP invoicing and PO-driven payment controls, with configuration to support AP auto-debit confirmation, AP clearing, invoice validation and exception routing. SAP Ariba Invoice was configured to enforce PO management controls, invoice-to-payment matching logic, and credit management workflows, together with operational rules to improve timeliness and accuracy of payables processing. Integrations and automation observed in practice included EDI invoice submission channels automated with robotic process automation, RPA-driven completeness checks for invoices arriving in the customer portal, and automation of remittance handling into the deduction settlement process. Operational coverage explicitly spanned interactions with the U.S. subsidiary team and the centralized Treasury and Finance Shared Services group, enabling cross-border invoice handling and issue escalation between sites. Governance changes emphasized creation of standard operating procedures and operational workflows under the Treasury and Finance Shared Services leadership, with a Section Manager driving AP invoicing, PO management, credit control and deduction monitoring processes. Outcomes reported include improved AR and AP workflows and a decrease in deduction volume on financial reports, supported by automated monitoring tools and process ownership to ensure timely claims and correct cash application.
