City Furniture | Retail | 1800 | $250M | United States | Akeneo | Akeneo PXM | Product Information Management | 2018 | StrikeTru |
In 2018 City Furniture implemented Akeneo PXM, a Product Experience Management solution, to support omnichannel commerce and centralize product information and digital assets. The phased deployment, with phase 1 going live late 2018, was executed with StrikeTru as the implementation partner and focused on retail product master data and feed syndication across the companys U.S. operations in Florida.
The Akeneo PXM implementation configured core product model capabilities, attribute sets, and enrichment workflows to scale SKU and attribute management. City Furniture used Akeneo PXM to standardize product records, manage taxonomy and attribute inheritance, and automate catalog export processes to downstream channels, aligning product data management with merchandising and eCommerce operations.
Akeneo PXM was integrated with a digital asset management system and feed-management tools to streamline product asset and feed syndication across channels, enabling more frequent and automated web publishes. The integration scope covered product images and assets, feed transformation, and scheduled syndication to retail and online channels in the U.S., improving the orchestration between product information, assets, and channel feeds.
Governance and rollout followed a phased approach led by StrikeTru, with defined data stewardship and enrichment workflows to support scale. Within 12 months the deployment doubled SKUs and attributes and increased web sync frequency by approximately 150 percent, directly supporting faster time-to-market and more efficient digital sales operations through the Akeneo PXM Product Experience Management implementation.

Home Bargains | Retail | 22000 | $4.3B | United Kingdom | Akeneo | Akeneo PXM | Product Information Management | 2022 | n/a |
In 2022 Home Bargains implemented Akeneo PXM as a Retail PIM & Product Experience solution, delivered by iWeb with a three week build timeline. The Akeneo PXM implementation established a centralized product catalog to serve Home Bargains retail operations, covering the retailer's mix of up to 4,000 branded product lines and feeding multiple channels and store touchpoints across the business.
The implementation configured Akeneo PXM modules for product modelling, asset manager, reference entities, rules engine, and custom views, alongside data governance and data insights capabilities. The project included data imports and data exports workflows, assets transformations, teams and permissions setup, and users training to operationalize product and data concepts throughout merchandising and digital teams.
Back-end integrations were implemented to support ERP integration, commerce integration with proprietary commerce systems, retailer syndication, and external data transfer for multi-channel distribution. Custom workflows and technical architecture were delivered to enable PIM integration with existing system landscapes and to automate product data flows between suppliers, internal teams, and channel endpoints.
Governance and process redesign accompanied the technical build, with business process consultancy, managed services for ongoing support, and formalized teams and permissions to steward product information. The Product Experience strategy and consulting work created a single source of product truth and operational practices for catalog ownership and data quality.
The Akeneo PXM deployment produced a centralized product catalog that functions as the single source of product truth for Home Bargains, supporting product information management, catalog management, and retailer syndication. Reported outcomes from the engagement include a fourfold improvement in customer experience, a 65 percent reduction in capital investment, and a 250 percent improvement in product data quality.
