Baskervill | Professional Services | 180 | $20M | United States | Avast Software | Avast Business | Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) | 2014 | n/a |
In 2014, Baskervill deployed Avast Business as its Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solution. The IT Manager led staging, setup and installation across all desktop and laptop endpoints, and administered Avast Business as the firm level endpoint protection platform.
The implementation focused on centralized endpoint management and policy enforcement using the Avast Business management console, combined with endpoint agents for real time scanning and threat detection consistent with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) capabilities. Configuration and automation work included standardized OS deployments using MDT 2013 to ensure uniform agent installation, scheduled patching coordination with GFI Languard, and ongoing agent provisioning as part of workstation build processes.
Avast Business operated alongside the broader Windows and virtualization stack managed by Baskervill, including Microsoft Active Directory for user and group provisioning, Exchange and Office 365 mailbox administration, and VMWare ESXi virtualized servers used for infrastructure and system staging. The EDR functionality was administered in an environment that also included network security devices such as Cisco Meraki and Barracuda appliances, Mimecast cloud spam filtering, and a BMC Track-it ticketing workflow for incident escalation and tracking.
Governance and operationalization tied Avast Business into existing IT process controls, including IT policy development, software and hardware audit processes, license compliance reviews, endpoint patch schedules, and end user training and orientation. Day to day operations were integrated with helpdesk escalation procedures, remote office support for locations including DC and Orlando, and support for international contractors, ensuring Avast Business administration was part of the firm wide endpoint security and IT operations framework.

Eurofish Napoli | Consumer Packaged Goods | 226 | $30M | Italy | Avast Software | Avast Business | Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) | 2015 | n/a |
In 2015, Eurofish Napoli deployed Avast Business as an Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solution. The implementation spanned the Volla, NA site and extended connectivity to remote offices via VPN, embedding the Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) capability into the company LAN and enterprise server estate.
The technical implementation included creation of Linux servers on the LAN running Proxy Squid, Fetchmail, POP3, SMTP, Apache, mySQL and PHP, and deployment of ZEROSHELL and ZEROTRUTH distributions to activate Radius Server, Captive Portal, Firewall, VPN and LDAP services. ZyXELL firewall appliances were installed and configured with VPN for interoffice connectivity, and load balancing was introduced to support application availability. Windows Server editions 2008 through 2019 were configured for DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, file services and print services, and a backup architecture was implemented using Veeam Backup & Replicator.
Avast Business was implemented alongside AVAST Endpoint Suite Plus configuration and coexisted with Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business SELECT Antivirus Server in endpoint roles. The Avast Business deployment provided centralized endpoint protection and response capabilities consistent with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) workflows, enabling coordinated quarantining and policy enforcement across managed endpoints.
Operational integration aligned endpoint controls with existing directory and network services, specifically Active Directory, LDAP, Radius, DNS and DHCP, and extended to wired and wireless networks managed through Zyxel Cloud. Governance and operational processes were adjusted to centralize GPO and Active Directory driven policy management, and endpoint protection configuration was consolidated into the Avast Business and AVAST Endpoint Suite Plus administration to enforce consistent security posture across servers, workstations and remote office connections.
