Accenture | Professional Services | 791000 | $64.9B | Ireland | Amazon Web Services (AWS) | AWS DeepRacer | Driving Simulation | 2019 | n/a |
In 2019, Accenture implemented AWS DeepRacer as a private global league to democratize machine learning skills within its Learning & Development function. The program used the Driving Simulation application AWS DeepRacer to create a hands-on ML upskilling initiative across approximately 30 locations in 17 countries, targeting innovation centers and client-facing teams.
The implementation combined physical and virtual tracks to support reinforcement learning model training, simulation-based evaluation, and competitive labs, leveraging AWS DeepRacer capabilities for model experimentation and iterative tuning. Accenture embedded AWS DeepRacer into instructor-led courses and self-paced labs to operationalize core ML concepts, positioning the AWS DeepRacer Driving Simulation as an applied training platform for practitioners to build and test reinforcement learning models in a controlled environment.
Operational rollout was coordinated by Accenture Learning & Development and HR, with local event hosts in each innovation center managing track logistics and a global league governance structure overseeing rules, scoring and knowledge sharing. The league extended into client workshops and broader ML enablement programs, enabling cross-team participation from consulting groups and innovation hubs, and emphasized hands-on practice, model evaluation workflows and peer-led competitions to scale ML familiarity across the organization.

JPMorgan Chase | Banking and Financial Services | 317233 | $180.6B | United States | Amazon Web Services (AWS) | AWS DeepRacer | Driving Simulation | 2019 | n/a |
In 2019, JPMorgan Chase launched an AWS DeepRacer learning program as an upskilling initiative run by its Chicago Innovation team. The effort was classed under Learning & Development (HR) to promote cloud and machine learning skills across the firm’s technology centers, and it positioned AWS DeepRacer within the Driving Simulation category for experiential ML training.
The implementation combined instructor-led curriculum with hands-on AWS DeepRacer track sessions and internally developed tooling, including log analysis utilities to capture telemetry and accelerate model iteration. AWS DeepRacer was used to teach reinforcement learning concepts, model evaluation workflows, and leaderboard management to create repeatable training paths for practitioners.
Rollout expanded beyond Chicago to more than 20 cities with approximately 3,500 participants, operating across multiple JPMorgan Chase technology centers and talent cohorts. The program produced internal tooling to support debugging and analytics, and it generated multiple finalists and winners in AWS DeepRacer global competitions, creating formalized experiential milestones for practitioners.
Governance and program design remained under Learning & Development with coordination by the Chicago Innovation team, which managed curriculum, event orchestration, and internal competition rules. Reported outcomes included increased cloud and ML adoption within participating teams and observed role mobility as employees leveraged applied reinforcement learning skills to transition into ML-focused responsibilities.

Vodafone Group | Communications | 88780 | $43.9B | United Kingdom | Amazon Web Services (AWS) | AWS DeepRacer | Driving Simulation | 2023 | Accenture |
In 2023, Vodafone Group deployed AWS DeepRacer as a hands on Learning & Development program for its Digital Engineering teams, using the Driving Simulation application to accelerate reinforcement learning literacy during the company DigiFest event. The initiative was run with Accenture and targeted global Digital Engineering cohorts across Vodafone's operating regions.
The implementation centered on AWS DeepRacer's simulation and reinforcement learning model training capabilities, enabling participants to build, train, and evaluate autonomous driving models inside the DeepRacer environment. Vodafone aggregated participation metrics including 585+ registrations, 400+ models submitted, and more than 600 training hours, and the program directly onboarded 225 engineers into reinforcement learning workflows.
Operationally the program was delivered on AWS infrastructure leveraging the DeepRacer service, integrated into Vodafone's Learning and Development schedules and DigiFest programming, with Accenture providing implementation and facilitation support. The scope emphasized practical model development and training workflows rather than enterprise systems integration, making the Driving Simulation activity accessible to engineers across regions.
Governance and rollout were managed through Vodafone's HR Learning and Development and Digital Engineering leadership, using event based enrollment and tracked training hours to measure participation. The AWS DeepRacer Driving Simulation program accelerated ML literacy across regions and established a repeatable, instructor supported onboarding path for reinforcement learning skills within Vodafone's engineering organization.
