Continental implemented BizFlow BPM in 2006 to automate procurement and engineering change-request workflows across Continental Automotive Systems North American engineering division. The BizFlow BPM deployment is classified as Business Process Management and targeted procurement, test orders and R&D workflows supporting roughly 500 engineers and project staff.
The implementation configured workflow orchestration for engineering change requests and procurement approvals, replacing paper based trails with electronic approvals, structured forms and audit trail capabilities. The deployment of BizFlow BPM reduced procurement lead time to about 3.2 days and supported processing of over 6,000 purchases totaling approximately 5.2 million dollars annually for the SWIFT Government Purchase Card program.
